Movies and Origami
Knowing me and my family, you can probably guess which movies we saw this break. (my opinion out of 5)
- We Bought A Zoo : matt damon buys a zoo, based on a true story of a family (3/5) the animal scenes were beautiful, the plot a bit slow and disconnected
- Hugo (3D) : a movie about movies, mechanical automata, mystery, and man (4/5) the setting is in the clocks of paris (bias++) and there are a number of great quotes
- Between the Folds : a gorgeous and award-winning documentary on the art, science, and all other facets of origami (5/5)
Between the Folds was inspiring. It reminded me of my brief origami phase in elementary school, and how I felt like a magician that first time when my grandma taught me how to fold a blank page into a shirt, then transform that shirt into a pair of pants, and finally morph those pants into an interactive camera. A few days ago I started picking it up again, and made a Geneva Tato Box today :)
